2017 Ford Escape Updated for Dallas SUV Buyers
The Ford Escape has been a popular choice in the compact SUV segment since its introduction 15 years ago. For the 2017 model year, the well-loved Escape has been reengineered with more innovative features and technology that make driving easier, safer and more efficient.
The first thing many people will notice is the bold new styling of the front and rear ends. New headlights, grille and bumper design give the Escape a more purposeful look, and the new taillights and liftgate give the SUV a wider stance.
Two new EcoBoost engines are also coming to the 2017 Ford Escape – a turbocharged 1.5-liter and twin-scroll turbo 2.0-liter. The Escape will be the first Ford vehicle to make Auto Start-Stop standard when equipped with an EcoBoost engine, which shuts the engine off when idle to conserve fuel. In stop-and-go traffic, this results in a 4 to 6 percent improvement in fuel economy.
Available SYNC Connect will allow Escape owners to remotely start their vehicle, lock and unlock the doors, get their vehicle’s location and check vehicle information like tire pressures and fuel level right from an easy to use smartphone app. Five years of service comes complimentary, and the system integrates with the SYNC 3 infotainment system.
A suite of driver-assistance technologies will be available on the 2017 Escape, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with brake support, enhanced park assist, lane-keeping aid, blind-spot information system and a hands-free foot-activated liftgate.
Trim level options continue to be S, SE and Titanium, and a new Sport Appearance Package is available for SE and Titanium models. Six new wheel designs are also available, as well as three new colors – Canyon Ridge, White Gold and Lightning Blue.
