2017 Ford F-150 Named a Top Green Vehicle by AAA
The 2017 Ford F-150 was recently named a Top Green Vehicle in the pickup category in AAA’s Green Car Guide thanks to its best-in-class gas fuel economy, excellent handling and spacious interior. When equipped with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, the F-150 4×2 returns 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, which is best-in-class.
“Many drivers need the flexibility of a larger vehicle, but still want to make a green choice,” said Megan McKernan of the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Automotive Research Center. The F-150 outperformed the competition in many areas, including fuel efficiency.
Although gas prices are lower than they were a few years ago, customers are still interested in purchasing fuel-efficient vehicles. Fuel efficiency remains one of the top purchase considerations in the U.S., with 70 percent rating it an important factor in a survey from AAA.
Ford continues to innovate and introduce new fuel-saving technologies for the F-150, including the use of lightweight military-grade aluminum-alloy in the body, a number of EcoBoost engine options and an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission with standard Auto Start-Stop technology.
The Ford F-150 has won a number of awards recently, including best truck value from Kelley Blue Book and the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy Greener Choice award. It’s no wonder why the F-150 has remained the bestselling truck in America for the past 40 years.
