2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Arrives with 450 Horsepower
Ford recently unveiled the horsepower and torque rating for the highly anticipated all-new 2017 F-150 Raptor. The high-performance off-road pickup uses an all-new 3.5-liter twin-turbo high-output EcoBoost engine and produces an impressive 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque across a wide power band for great performance at any speed.
Combined with up to 500 pounds of weight savings and a new Ford-built 10-speed transmission, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will deliver better performance than ever before in addition to a 23 percent improvement in EPA-rated combined fuel economy.
The new dual-mode transfer case delivers on-demand all-wheel drive capability regardless of road conditions, with the ability to switch between a clutch-driven system and a durable, mechanically-locked system for more severe off-road environments. The Terrain Management System is unique to the Raptor and gives a variety of options for different road surfaces and weather conditions, including a Baja Mode.
With a base price of less than $50,000, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is unmatched in its capability for the price. More performance car buyers are turning to Ford this year as the performance car lineup continues to grow with the introduction of vehicles like the Focus RS and Shelby GT350. This year Ford will sell more than 200,000 performance cars globally, nearly double the volume compared to three years ago.
