2018 Ford F-150 Wins 14th Truck of Texas Award
The 2018 Ford F-150 was named the Truck of Texas for the 14th time in the annual Texas Auto Writers Association Texas Truck Rodeo. Last year the all-new Ford Super Duty won the Truck of Texas, and the high-performance F-150 Raptor was named this year’s Off-Road Pickup Truck winner.
“With the new 2018 F-150, we’re honored to earn back-to-back Truck of Texas awards for F-Series, a recognition that speaks to the truck team’s dedication to our hardworking customers,” said Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president and president of North America. “That’s especially true in Texas – truck capital of the world.”
More than 70 TAWA journalists evaluated this year’s newest pickup trucks on- and off-road over a two day period, putting in more than 300 hours of driving time. The judges were impressed by the 2018 Ford F-150’s updated EcoBoost engines and 10-speed automatic transmissions, as well as the excellent off-road performance of the 2018 Raptor.
In addition to updated styling, the 2018 Ford F-150 includes updated powertrains across the entire range of pickups. All engines now feature Auto Start-Stop technology for improved fuel economy and automatic transmissions with selectable drive modes.
Ford is also offering a variety of premium features on the 2018 F-150, including an all-new B&O Play premium audio system, Wi-Fi hotspot, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection.
