Ford Fiesta wins awards in Texas – 5 Star Ford Dallas, Fort Worth, TX
More than 50 writers from the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) held their annual Auto Roundup rally competition on Monday, and Ford came away with multiple awards. The new Fiesta won three awards and the Fusion Energi won an award as well.
The redesigned Fiesta SE with Ford’s new 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine won Sub-Compact Car of Texas, with its 37 mpg combined and 45 mpg highway. The 120 horsepower three-cylinder engine won an award on its own as well, being selected as the Best New Feature by the TAWA.
The well-reviewed Fiesta ST won two awards, including Best Value and Performance Compact Car of Texas. Judges were impressed with the precision suspension, better braking system and high-output 1.6 liter EcoBoost engine which delivers 197 horsepower and over 200 lb.-ft. of torque. The competitive price of the ST gives you one of the best performance cars for the money.
The Green Vehicle of Texas award was given to the Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid. The Energi can go 620 miles on a tank and 21 miles on electricity alone when fully charged.
