Ford Introduces Updated 2018 F-150
Just three years after introducing its revolutionary high-strength, aluminum-alloy-bodied F-150, Ford is introducing some major upgrades for the 2018 Ford F-150. The new model features updated styling, more technology, more safety features and features an available all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel engine.
From the outside, the biggest change is the bold new front and rear styling, featuring new grilles, headlamps and bumpers that make each F-150 series unique, from the XL to the Limited. The 2018 Ford F-150 also features six all-new wheel designs ranging from 17 to 22 inches in diameter. Inside, two new seating trim colors are available on the Platinum and Limited models, and the King Ranch F-150 features new Kingsville Appointed seats.
The 2018 F-150 is also getting new driver assistance features, including a segment first available adaptive cruise control system with stop-and-go functionality. Also available is Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, a 4G LTE modem with Wi-Fi hot spot and new B&O PLAY audio system.
Ford is revamping the engine lineup for the 2018 F-150 as well, with an all-new standard 3.3-liter V6 engine with direct injection for increased efficiency and the same power and torque of the previous engine. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and new, second-generation 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 are now paired to 10-speed automatic transmissions. An upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine is also available.
For the first time, the 2018 Ford F-150 will be available with an all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine, which was designed, engineered and tested in-house by Ford. It will offer excellent torque as well as improved fuel economy, and is mated to the new 10-speed automatic transmission.
