The 2018 Ford Super Duty: America’s Most Capable Heavy-Duty Pickup
The 2018 Ford F-Series Super Duty enters the new year more powerful than ever, thanks to its newly upgraded 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel engine. With best-in-class 450 hp and 935 lb-ft of torque, the Super Duty is the most capable heavy-duty truck when it comes to power, torque, gooseneck towing, conventional towing and payload capacity.
A new 4×2 model of the F-450 allows for excellent gooseneck towing capacity of 34,000 pounds, a 1,500 pound improvement compared to other Super Duty models. The F-450 Super Duty 4×2 is available to both retail and fleet customers, and can be ordered in XL, XLT, Lariat and Platinum trim levels.
Ford upgraded the 2018 Super Duty’s diesel engine with redesigned cylinder heads for added strength and optimized fuel and turbo boost calibrations for improved horsepower and torque.
Ford is also the only heavy-duty truck manufacturer that builds its own diesel engine and transmission combo, allowing engineers to optimize performance across the entire lineup. By looking at the needs of its customers, Ford is able to refine the powertrain for improved strength, efficiency and durability during everyday use.
