Ford Honored with Multiple Awards at Texas Truck Rodeo
At this year’s Texas Auto Writers Association annual Texas Truck Rodeo, Ford was honored with a number of awards, including Truck Line of Texas for the F-Series, SUV of Texas for the Explorer and Best Technology for its Pro Trailer Backup Assist system.
Close to 70 TAWA journalists took part in this year’s Texas Truck Rodeo, with more vehicles and technologies tested than ever before. Held at the Knibbe Ranch north of San Antonio, every truck and SUV was put through a series of tests, including a grueling off-road track.

The all-new 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum beat out many competitors to win SUV of Texas, thanks to its 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, advanced technology and enhanced driving experience. The Explorer Platinum features luxury features like quilted leather seats, 20-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate and signature LED lighting.
Ford’s new Pro Trailer Backup Assist technology on the 2016 F-150 was honored with the Best Technology award. This new technology makes it easy for both novices and trailering experts to back up a trailer by simply turning a knob on the truck’s dashboard.
