Ford Introduces Co-Pilot360 Driver-Assist Suite
Ford is introducing Ford Co-Pilot360 this year to help its customers drive safely and confidently, no matter what type of Ford vehicle they drive. Ford Co-Pilot360 is an advanced suite of standard driver-assist technologies, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot information system, lane keep system, rear backup camera and auto high beam lighting.
The introduction of Co-Pilot360 means Ford will have the most advanced suite of standard driver-assist features across all full-line automakers. The goal is to help people around the world travel more safely, especially as roads become more congested and driver distractions continue to be an issue.
Starting this fall, Ford will roll out Co-Pilot360 to all of its passenger cars, SUVs and trucks up to the F-150 in North America, beginning with the all-new 2019 Ford Edge and Edge ST.
“Though our vehicles today are safer than ever, drivers tell us they are still stressed about getting in a potential accident,” said Jim Farley, Ford president, Global Markets. “That’s one reason why we’re making these must-have technologies accessible to millions of customers each year.”
Ford also is introducing more premium driver-assist technologies in its vehicles, including adaptive cruise control with stop and go and lane centering, evasive steering assist and post-collision braking. Some 2019 vehicles will be able to be equipped with reverse brake assist with automatic emergency braking to help prevent hitting an object while backing up.
